Alexander Zverev lived up to his position as favorite at the ATP tournament in Vienna. After 67 minutes the opening game is already over.
Alexander Zverev confidently mastered the opening hurdle at the ATP tournament in Vienna. The number one seed from Hamburg easily won against the Austrian Joel Schwärzler 6:2, 6:2. In the round of 16, Zverev will face the winner of the game between the two Americans Alex Michelsen and Marcos Giron.
Zverev, who recently had to struggle with the after-effects of pneumonia, was clearly superior to the 347th in the world rankings. The Tokyo Olympic champion only fell a little behind on match point. After 67 minutes, Zverev only converted the fourth match point. The world number three had already gotten in the mood for the tournament on Sunday at Dominic Thiem’s farewell game in the Vienna Stadthalle.
