Curious image in Practice 1, the afternoon one, in Moto2 of the Australian GP. When the drivers were racing at full speed around the circuit, three geese sneaked onto the track to the disbelief of the athletes, who slowed down to avoid running over the animals.

The organization of the test has been forced to wave the red flag and thus temporarily suspend the session with 31:47 remaining.

They have not been the only animals that have appeared on the track in Australia. As Jorge Martín passed, a rabbit jumped on the asphalt, which caused a tremendous scare to the Spanish driver.

It is not the first time that animals have made an appearance at the Australian GP. Last year at the Phillip Island circuit two geese strolled around the track. A circumstance that also forced the commissioners to raise the red flag.

The Australian GP started without much activity. The rain flooded the track and the drivers did not go out on the circuit. Only the safety car, driven by Loris Capirossi, dared to do a few laps and check the route. Meanwhile, the pilots were spending time on their motorcycles.

With the track already dry, Marc Márquez was the fastest in Friday’s tests, interrupted by rain, and the championship leader, Jorge Martín, finished fourth after a fall.

Márquez, a six-time world champion, finished the test 0.012 seconds ahead of his brother Álex, both riding Gresini motorcycles, in a session briefly stopped by a goose on the track.
