Autumn Pavia joins the club

The godmother of the Yokaï judo club, an athlete with a rich sporting background, has just officially obtained her license in her favorite Cantal club.

After a first season of intense activities, between the launch of judo courses (in Champs-Marchal, Saignes and Condat), courses during short holidays and a one-week course in summer (a first in Cantal), the Yokaï judo club (YJC), made its return, in five municipalities (Champs, Condat, Saignes, Lanobre and Neuvic).

He is developing a network of partners and, above all, he has just had the surprise, the pleasure and the honor of welcoming a new well-known licensee. A prestigious judokate (young) former athlete of the French team, with a nice track record: bronze medalist at the London Olympics, in 2012, two bronze medals in the world championships, in 2014 and 2015… Until then , godmother of the club, Automne Pavia, therefore decided to join it.

At 35 years old and now far from the “competitions” sector (therefore freed from the constraints of the very high level), although she is a national coach of young seniors, she returns to a family environment, with her father (Richard) and his mother (Virginia), who introduced him to judo at the age of 4 (in Oise, at the Saint-Justois Judo club) and who are now based in Cantal, where they created the YJC.

Before receiving in December, the 6 e dan (while usually, among women, to be a candidate for 5 e dan, you have to be 40 years old), for her, it’s a bit of a way of “coming full circle”.

Sports course

Born in Péronne in Picardy, second in a family of eight children, she grew up in Plainville (Oise), then in Cabrespine and Miraval-Cabardès, near Carcassonne, where, at 14, she was spotted by Marc Alexandre

which brings him to the France division in Marseille. There, she quickly established herself among the juniors, including a French champion title in 2006, before signing with the ACS Peugeot Citroën Mulhouse club. In 2008, after a season in the East, she signed with the Levallois sporting club, where she regularly rubbed shoulders with a certain Teddy Riner and won the title of junior world vice-champion in Bangkok (Thailand).
