A big month after the three blows 2024-2025 on September 21, the national interclubs will already tackle the third of ten episodes of their regular phase this Saturday. The opportunity, in particular, for the two Alsatian clubs in the Top 12 to relaunch themselves.
For Red Star Mulhouse, it will be more precisely a question of a restart, after its exemption in the second episode, on October 5, following the general withdrawal from Arras. But its destination (at 4:30 p.m.), Fos-sur-Mer, reigning champion, is far from ideal for a smooth recovery. The Provençal club, leader of Pool 1, has so far shown itself to be ruthless (8-0 and 7-1 victories against Racing Club de France and Caen) and is aiming to make it three at home.
Handicapped by the absences of Arnaud Merklé, Margot Lambert, both competing in the Netherlands, the Russian Rodion Alimov (visa problem) and the Canadian Wen Yu Zhang (injured), the RSM is not attacking this summit in optimal conditions. “It’s going to be complicated,” admits his captain François Schmitt-Baagoe who will complete his men’s sector with Rafaël Gavois, “It would be good to get the defensive bonus (a 5-3 defeat, editor’s note). But for the race for the play-offs, we will especially have to beat RCF at home on November 16 at the 4e daytime. »
ASPTTS undressed for men
Also still deprived of key players, the ASPTTS, 5e of group 2 after its two failures with bonuses, has, on paper, little other choice than to win at 5:30 p.m. at the promoted Rostrenen – 6e and last – to move away from the red zone.
But the state of affairs depicted by Captain Julien Fuchs does not invite optimism. “Alex Lanier and Englishman Callum Hemming will not be there. Israeli Dubovenko and Azeri Dwicahyo are due to face each other on Friday at the Dutch Open. But the original Indonesian (Editor’s note: Dwicahyo) is currently stuck in Indonesia due to a missing visa. If he can go to Holland, I should get the loser. But nothing is certain. »
The objective of ASPTTS in Brittany will therefore be modest. “A draw would be a good result. We’re going to have to pull off a few performances.” warns Julien Fuchs. “This third day promises to be difficult for the club, since our staffing problems are having an impact on our teams 2 and 3.”
Colmar wants to capitalize
In pool 1 of Nationale 2, the promoted Kembsois, victorious at the start of the month over its neighbor, the Volant des 3 Frontières (5-3), and 4ewill follow up with a second reception at 3:30 p.m.: that of an ASPTTS 2 undefeated leader with two successes. Roadblock for accession to N1 in spring 2024, the V3F, 5ewill return to Village-Neuf at 4 p.m., with, in its sights, its first victory against the red lantern, Dijon.
In N3, COBRA Colmar, who emerged victorious at the beginning of October in their shock against Schwindratzheim (5-3), will strive at 4 p.m. to further establish their position at the head of a homogenous group 1 at an ASL Robertsau which closes the walk. Still runner-up, ”Schwin” aims to bounce back at 3 p.m. in Dommartemont, 5ewhile ASPTTS 3, 4ewill appear weakened at 4 p.m. at the Mosellan promotion, Basse-Ham, 3e with one more point.
In pool 2, Reiningue, 3eprepares to suffer at 3 p.m. in Etupes, in control thanks to his flawless performance (2 successes). The promoted Haut-Rhinois would make a good deal by avoiding a second setback in a row.
Still undefeated and 2ethe Red Star 2, whose key pieces will help out on the front page, is also preparing to experience a delicate moment in a delayed match, Sunday at 1 p.m., in Besançon, 4e after being sanctioned with three penalty points, but which François Schmitt-Baagoe sees as “the best team in the group. »
