This year, 530 young badminton players from 23 nations will compete for world ranking points at this tournament.

There were no major surprises in the U19 competitions on Thursday.
All those previously seeded are still in the running.

It was different in the U17 competitions: In the women’s singles, the number one seeded Belgian Lea Dauphinais had to admit defeat to the French Camille Delettre in three sets in the second round.
Dana Arnold from the organizing team VfB Grün-Weiß Mülheim also started the tournament in the U17 women’s singles. She won her opening game against Amalia Schneider from Hamburg in two sets.

The U15 competitions start today (Friday) in the Von-Bock-Straße sports hall (approx. 150m away from the Westenergie sports hall).
