It is a historic club in Brittany. Since the end of the 1980s, Saint-Jacques is a leading figure in badminton in the region. Over this period, we are one of the only regional associations permanently at the top,
recalls François Menuge, vice-president. Since the beginning, one of our strengths has been good structuring. Frédéric Deléon, the current president, and I have been in management for a quarter of a century. We have a stable group that manages everything.
However, it does not rest on its laurels and pursues unimpeded development. Like almost everyone, the numbers are very good this season, with a post-Olympic effect,
appreciates the president. We are going to beat our record number of licensees which stood at 287 in 2023-2024. This year, we will easily pass the 300 member mark.
“We are training more and more young people”
To do this, Saint-Jacques is relying on a change in strategy made ten years ago. We are training more and more young people and earlier and earlier, 100 last year. The overwhelming majority start before age 10. We put the emphasis back on schools thanks to actions with schools. The full-time hiring of an educator contributes to this growth.
