Not really spoiled by the schedule which saw them face the two best teams in the group (Aix-en-Provence and Chambly) during the first two days of Top 12, Martin Ouazzen and his teammates, currently fourth in pool 2, count despite all 5 points. A satisfactory start to the season which however does not want to be satisfied with the one who made his contribution to the Cholet building during the draw against the Provençaux by winning his single. It would be nice to get our first win this weekend,” continues the experienced Ouazzen, convinced that the objective is achievable despite a decimated female squad for this trip to Aire-sur-la-Lys.

Léa’s absences (Palermo) and Clara (Azurmendi)who are participating in the Dutch Open, obviously impact the group, but I have confidence in Gayle(Containers) and Eulalie (Tight) to best replace their teammates. For the rest, the composition will be classic with normally the advantage for us over the two men’s singles and probably balanced games in the other matches .

Faced with a team that is off to a fairly good start with two victories in as many matches, the shock therefore promises to be as uncertain as it is important for the rest of the season as Martin Ouazzen explains again. Even if Aire-sur-la-Lys had an easier start to the championship than us by facing teams who should a priori find themselves at the bottom of the ranking, they will be – with Aix-en-Provence – direct opponents for a place in the play-off. Hence the added interest in winning on Saturday”!
