Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Ducati racer Francesco Bagnaia bringing up the incident with Alex Marquez at the 2024 Aragon MotoGP which makes it difficult for him to defend his championship title.
The 2024 Aragon MotoGP is a bad memory for Bagnaia. Because in that race, Bagnaia failed to finish because he was hit by Marquez and bounced into the gravel.
Failing to finish means losing points for Bagnaia. Meanwhile, the racer who is familiarly called Pecco is in the championship competition.

In the MotoGP standings, Bagnaia is now in second place with 404 points, 20 points adrift of Jorge Martin who has 424 points. If he doesn’t slip up at Aragon, Bagnaia’s point difference with Martin could be even smaller.
“The clash with Alex Marquez took a lot out of me [poin]. Because since Misano, I have stuck strictly to the championship path. I had to make the collision as harmless as possible because I knew there was still a chance to win [MotoGP 2024],” said Bagnaia, quoted from Mark.
The two-time consecutive MotoGP champion is determined to defend the highest title he has held since 2022 and 2023. Therefore, he does not want to make any more mistakes that will cost him dearly in the future.
“Mistakes weighed me down. In the race where I fell there, it weighed me down. Unfortunately, the collision with Alex Marquez was a moment that weighed me down,” he said.
“But there was no longer any meaning in continuing to think about it because at that time we were both fast. It was an even battle. When everything went smoothly when I was in the front row, I had the opportunity to reach the podium in all races,” added Bagnaia.
Nearby, Bagnaia will appear in the 2024 Thailand MotoGP which will take place at the Buriram Circuit on Sunday (27/10). With three races remaining, the time Bagnaia has to secure the championship title is increasingly narrow.
