Bajen Pursues Star Playmaker Gustafson: What This Means for the Team’s Future

Samuel Gustafson, 29, has a contract with Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan that expires on January 31, 2025. Thus, the midfielder can already negotiate with other clubs about a possible Bosman move at the beginning of next year.

Fotbolldirekt recently stated that the national team-merited Swede can be bought out of his contract early. Häcken has spoken to his ex-team captain, but there are more Allsvenskan clubs showing interest.

Same site namely claims that Hammarby wants to recruit Gustafson. According to the information, the green and whites should have expressed a “concrete interest” in the 29-year-old, who is described as a “favorite alternative” to Darijan Bojanic (Ulsan Hyundai).

Bajen should want to start negotiations with the former Häcken midfielder as soon as possible and the player himself should be interested in listening to what the 08 club has to offer, writes Fotbolldirekt.

“What I can say is that the development at (Tesfaldet) Tekie, “Mackan” (Markus) Karlsson and (Fredrik) Hammar makes me extremely proud and satisfied. Then I also know that we have a savings capital in Divine (Teah), Adrian Lahdo and Gent (Elezaj)”, sports director Mikael Hjelmberg writes in a text message to the Football channel.

Could Gustafson add something to that midfield lineup?
“I am completely uninterested in commenting on that now”.

Do you want to deny the data?

“I want to focus on ending the autumn in the best possible way,” writes Hjelmberg.

Gustafson left Häcken last winter for Urawa Red Diamonds. Since then, there have been two goals and two assists in 23 games for the Japanese club.
