Baník player value: who rose and who fell? We know the terms of Ewerton’s departure

Baník player value: who rose and who fell? We know the terms of Ewerton’s departure

First, let’s move on to the facts that Transfermarkt recently brought. It must be said that in total, compared to the previous period, the value of the cadres in Ostrava and Karviná increased. The miner can be proud of the amount that is more than two million euros higher, it is currently worth 17.5 million euros (444 million crowns). Is it real? “It’s hard to say,” smiles Michal Bělák, Baník’s executive director, who is in charge of transfer negotiations with sporting director Luďek Miklošek in an interview with Deník.

“That is a difficult question to answer. Respectively, you can give a nice answer, but only the reality on the market will tell you the truth, because there always has to be a club that wants to buy the player,” continues Bělák.

“Personally, I think that the most important thing is the trend, whether the value is rising or not. And we are currently happy because we are doing well. We have valuable players mainly because they are young and have the potential to grow. On the other hand, as I said, as a result, a club must be found that will pay the given amount – ideally higher – for him,” he adds.

Just for fun. When Baník’s centenary celebrations started three years ago, owner Václav Brabec revealed that he had invested over 400 million crowns in the club by that time. From paying debts, through reinforcements to building club infrastructure. According to Transfermarkt, the value of the entire squad currently corresponds to this amount.

MOVEMENT IN BÁNIK AND KARVINÁ

Four individuals recorded an increase in their value. Ewerton, who is the most expensive member of the team with 2.3 million euros, then Jakub Markovič, Erik Prekop and Emmanuel Uchenna. “Just Učina (Uchenna) had a zero value on the website for a long time, but he didn’t have a zero value for us for a long time,” says Michal Bělák about the stopper, who, according to Transfermarkt, could be had for 500,000 euros (13 million crowns). “We certainly value him for much more,” the second highest-ranking man in Baník is clear.

A similar case is Tomáš Rigo, who, according to the website, is worth 2.2 million euros. “We had a very lucrative offer by Czech standards, and we immediately rejected it,” responds Bělák.

On the contrary, attackers Jiří Klíma and Abdullahi Tanko saw a slight reduction in their prices. But when Ewerton was mentioned, as Deník previously reported, his situation is very specific and the value is currently difficult to calculate. In his three-year contract with Baník, he has an exit clause for the Czech Republic and abroad, which at the moment amounts to well over 30 million crowns and is rising. If he does not leave, the amount will go up even more in the following year, up to a sum of almost 40 million crowns. In the second year and a half of the contract – logically – the value will decrease again.

Any interested party just needs to put the amount in the contract on the table, lure the player and it’s his. Here, more than two million euros is more of an imaginary amount than something that Baník could receive.

However, they also recorded a shift in Karviná, although here we are moving in lower numbers than is the case with the Silesian rival. According to the website, the squad is worth seven and a half million euros (190 million crowns), the most expensive item should be the Nigerian midfielder and hard worker David Moses (800 thousand euros). Goalkeeper Jakub Lapeš, then Amar Memič, Filip Vecheta, Denny Samko and David Planka also saw an increase in value.

On the contrary, the price tag went down for Milan Knobloch, Douglas Bergqvist and Patrik Čavoš. The newspaper also contacted representatives of the Karvina club with a request to comment on the Transfermarkt data, but they refused.

BÉLÁK: IT CAPTURES A TREND

How do they perceive Transfermarkt, at least in Baník? “We don’t know the conditions under which the amount is created, but my honest opinion is that this mapping captures a trend of whether the player’s value is going up or down. Regarding the amounts, I wouldn’t even say that they are indicative, rather very rough, because in my opinion there are big discrepancies between what the clubs think the player is worth and what is stated on Transfermarkt,” explains Michal Bělák.

Of course, there are many factors that determine the price, including, for example, the number of interested parties fighting for the player. “Then of course it goes up,” he agrees. “However, I have never experienced anyone arguing with Transfermarkt. Some clubs probably use it as a springboard, others not at all, but it doesn’t appear in the negotiations,” excludes the executive director of FCB.

What about other people in the environment? For example, player agents. “I think it’s nice for people who don’t have a job and don’t represent a player to be able to officially get a picture of the approximate cost of a player. Of course, in the end it may not be the price for which he will actually leave, but the price of a player cannot be accurately estimated,” confirms Zdeněk Nehoda from the Nehoda Sport agency.

He also talks about attributes such as the form of a footballer, or whether he is offered by a club or there is, on the contrary, interest in him. “But from an indicative point of view, it’s a fine and serious assessment. But more for a fan than a club representative or an agent, although I admit that I sometimes look into it to compare the players we represent with those we don’t. However, the price on the Tranfermarkt has practically no influence on the negotiations themselves,” Nehoda points out.

Radek Matějek from TOP11 also speaks similarly. “The values listed there are more or less like offers to players. Of course, the final price can then differ, sometimes significantly, but that depends on the negotiations. I definitely wouldn’t say it’s just a side-shooter game. It’s individual, but it roughly corresponds,” says Radek Matějek.

“Maybe Spáčil was worth 100,000 euros less than a year ago. If you look today, after he left Prostějov for Hradec, he has one and a half million on Transfermarkt. He is in a stable club of the first league, left-handed, interesting in the game, so he is growing, but if it is a real value, then the answer would be possible interest and a transfer,” adds Matějek as an example.

“However, I rather encounter the fact that clubs have their own idea of value and Transfermarkt does not deal with it. Maybe they are guided by that, I don’t know, but they don’t mention him in any way,” concludes the former referee.
