The superstar may be sidelined with a shoulder injury.

After their second victory in the World Series, the Los Angeles Dodgers have the American baseball crown in sight, but are worried about their superstar Shohei Ohtani. On Saturday evening (local time), the Dodgers beat the New York Yankees 4-2 in front of their home crowd and increased their lead to 2-0 in the Major League Baseball (MLB) final series.

Ohtani, currently the best player in the world, had to leave the field injured during his team’s second success. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts spoke of a “minor left shoulder subluxation.” An MRI examination should provide further information. However, Roberts was already confident that Ohtani can also appear in the rest of the series.

In the seventh inning, the 30-year-old left the pitch while holding his left arm with a bent elbow. This season, the Japanese became the first player to hit 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in one season.

Freddie Freeman, who also entered the history books with a walk-off grand slam in the first game of the World Series, was once again the decisive player in Los Angeles. In the third inning he hit a two-run home run, giving his team his second win.
