Memphis (dpa) – The <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2022/01/nba-nets-dominate-bulls-in-the-top-duel-in-the-east/" title="NBA: Nets dominate Bulls in the top duel in the east”>Orlando Magic suffered their first defeat of the season in the NBA with the world champion brothers Franz and Moritz Wagner. The team from Florida clearly lost 111:124 (43:69) to the Memphis Grizzlies in the North American professional basketball league. Orlando won the first two games of the season.
Only in the third quarter did Franz Wagner and Co. come into the game much better. At times the guests were already 29 points behind, but fought back to eight points (75:83). In the final half, the Grizzlies were more dominant again and easily took their second win of the season. Franz Wagner had 23 points, Moritz Wagner 9 points.
The Dallas Mavericks and Maxi Kleber also lost for the first time this season. Basketball legend Dirk Nowitzki’s former team won 102:114 (55:63) at the Phoenix Suns. 40 points and ten rebounds from Luka Doncic were of no use to the Texans. Kleber scored two points. Olympic champion Kevin Durant scored best for the Suns with 31 points.
