Traveling to Ardres this Saturday with an unchanged squad, ESCLAMS absolutely had to react.
The start of the match is balanced and the two teams are neck and neck. Finally the locals will take advantage of a breath of fresh air to take a break. But the end of the quarter is very good for the visitors who, thanks to quick play and skill, will reverse the trend to take the lead (19-20). The Picards, however, left many points on the line along the way. Following the end of the quarter, the GreenTeam put in a solid second act even if there were sometimes a few balls lost a little quickly. But at the break it’s them who are in front 32-37.
Returning from the locker room, the debates were balanced and it was rather the visitors who widened the gap slightly. But halfway through, they will experience 3 minutes of noticeable offensive breathing space, Ardres coming back a short length. Finally they reacted perfectly by going for points on the line and on a second chance thanks in part to two beautiful taps from Sydney. But also with an aggressive defense carried by the very good entry of Bourgouin. Before the last act, ESCLAMS has the match in hand (45-55). In the last act, the GreenTeam will manage its advantage perfectly and we think that victory will emerge quite logically. But the locals are not going to give up and thanks to several big outside shots they are going to get back into the match (57-63) 3 minutes away. Nothing to shake Salah Koné’s players who will be able to maintain their lead at the end of the match which will be played on the free throw line. Exercise in which they will be strong to win 64-72.
After 4 defeats in a row, ESCLAMS finally won its first victory of the season and responded after the pressure from its president last week. What to expect to see change in the workforce, the future will tell us.
