The 3rd <a href="https://www.archysport.com/2024/10/announcement-of-kings-u15-participation-in-the-3rd-okinawa-arena-cup-ryukyu-golden-kings/" title="Announcement of Kings U15 participation in the 3rd Okinawa Arena Cup | Ryukyu Golden Kings”>Okinawa Arena Cup, sponsored by the Prefectural Basketball Association, will be held at the Okinawa Arena on the 19th and 20th, with the boys’ and girls’ finals in the U12, U15, and high school categories.

Moriya Inafuku, executive director of the Prefectural Basketball Association, and Shigeru Yokota, chairman of the association’s youth development committee, visited Ryukyu Shimpo on the 17th to promote the tournament.

Games will start at 9am on both the 19th and 20th. The finals of the U12 tournament will be held on the 19th, with Sashiki Elementary School competing against Nagamine Elementary School for the boys, and Nakahara Elementary School A versus Itoman Minami Elementary School competing for the girls. On the 20th, the U15 Junior Winter Cup Prefectural Preliminary Tournament and the High School Winter Cup Prefectural Preliminary Finals will be held. For the U15s, the boys will play Standard – Ryukyu Golden Kings U15, the girls will play against Chatan Junior High School – HEART, the boys will play against Miku Technical High School and Konan High School, and the girls will play against Ishikawa High School and Nishihara High School.

Managing Director Inafuku said, “Last year it was a great success with 5,000 people coming.I want them to experience the best games in Okinawa in each category at Okinawa Arena,” and Director Yokota said, “In the future, we will be visiting Okinawa Arena, where the World Cup was also held.” This event will bring together professional players and players who could lead to their dreams of playing in the NBA. We hope you will come and support us.”

Admission to the game on the 19th is free. Advance tickets for the game on the 20th are 1,300 yen for adults (2,000 yen for same-day tickets), 800 yen for junior high and high school students (1,300 yen for same-day tickets), and free for elementary school students and younger. A shuttle bus will be running throughout Okinawa City on the day of the event. Tickets are available at basketball shops in the prefecture and Family Mart’s e-plus.
