O Benfica received Bonde this Monday, October 21st, in a game valid for the 2nd round of the 1st phase of the Liga Placard. The Eagles won 7-0.
The challenge hadn’t started yet, there were already two reasons to register. The first was related to the Cassiano Klein’s home debut as Benfica coach. Second, the fact that Lucio Rocha – recently elected as the best young player in the world – e Arthur – who became world champion with Brazil – have been honored. Symbolically, too Nil Roca and Pau Bargallóalso world champions, but in roller hockey and for Spain, were present, as well as the vice president Fernando Tavares.
He was the most recent world champion from Benfica to open the scoring. At 7′, Arthur turned a free kick into a goal, with a powerful and indefensible kick (1-0, at 7′).
Although the eagles were always in control of the game, very offensive and without allowing Bonde to create big situations, only within the last minute of the first half they reached 2-0.
After freeing yourself from an opponent, Chishkala fired a shot that only ended up in the back of Diogo Basílio’s net (2-0, 20′).
With 14 seconds to play in the first half, the Tram even managed to send a ball to the ironthrough Rúben Freire, in what was his best situation so far.
It should be noted that, during rest, all the Club’s basic futsal categories – from Traquinas to Juniors in the men’s category; and from Infants to Juniors in the female category – were presented.
As throughout the first half, at the start of the second 20 minutes there were few opportunities, but when they did appear, it was for the Fidelidade Pavilion got up to celebrate… in double dose.
It was 26′ of the game when Carlos Monteiro, positioned on the right side of the attackreceived it from Silvestre, squared with the goal, and shot hard at the goal (3-0).
In the next minute, in a play in which Benfica did not let the visitors play, Silvestre anticipated an opponent, stole the ball, which went to Edmilson Sáwho pretended to play for a teammate, rolled over an opponent, and shot to count (4-0, at 27′).
With their foot on the accelerator, the red-and-blacks naturally achieved a handful of goals. Afonso Jesustaking a corner kick on the left side of the attack, played for Jacaré, who returned it to the Benfica captainand he put the ball into the goalmouth, looking for a deflection from André Coelho, who didn’t appear because, before, Rúben Freire touched the ball and it crossed the goal line (5-0, at 33′).
The half-dozen goal was scored by Afonso Jesus, who appeared near the right post of the opponent’s goal to deflect a ball endorsed by Tiago Reis (6-0, at 37′).
Closing the meeting, Lúcio Rocha, in a forward position, shot, the goalkeeper saved, and, on the rebound, Jacaré made amends and scored the final goal (7-0, 39′)to the delight of 1415 spectators were present at the Fidelidade Pavilion.
The match ended with a clear and expressive triumph for Benfica, 7-0in a challenge in which it is fair to also highlight the role of Léo Gugiel, who was imperious when it came to saving the goalhaving been decisive for the Reds to end the game without conceding any goal.
On the next journey, the eagles face Caxinasat the Vila do Conde Municipal Pavilion, in a duel on the 3rd round of the Placard League, scheduled for Sunday, October 27th, at 8:00 pm.
