New Delhi, Agency. Indian star Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden have made it to the prestigious season-ending ATP Tennis Finals. Bopanna and Ebden made it into the tournament with the exit of the pair of Nathaniel Lemmons and Jackson Withrow from the Paris Masters. The ATP Finals will be held at the Inalpi Arena in Turin, Italy from 10 to 17 November.
Bopanna will participate in this tournament for the fourth time. However, his eyes will be on his first ATP Finals title.
Eight pairs will take part: Only the top eight pairs of the world will take part in the tournament to be held in Turin. Apart from Bopanna and Ebden, the men’s doubles of Wesley Koolhof-Nicola Mactic, Kevin Kravitz-Tim Puetz, Harry Heliovara-Henri Payten, Marcelo Arevalo-Mat Pavic, Marcel Granollers-Horacio Zeballos, Simon Bolelli-Andrea Vavasori and Max Purcell-Jordan Thompson. Pairs will participate.
Bopanna and Ebden have qualified for the ATP Finals for the second consecutive year. Both of them reached the semi-finals in Turin in 2023 where they lost against Granollers and Zeballos.
Excellent performance in the season: Bopanna and Ebden made a great start to the season and won the Australian Open title. During this period, Indian player Bopanna also became the oldest number one player in the world at the age of 43 years 331 days. After this, Bopanna and Ebden also won the Miami Open title. Apart from this, the pair of Indian and Australian players also made it to the final in Adelaide and the semi-finals in Roland Garros.
Bopanna first made it to this tournament in 2011 with Aisa-ul-Haq Qureshi. Then in 2012 he participated in this tournament with Mahesh Bhupathi and in 2015 with Florin Merzia.
