Botafogo follows the same path as Libertadores champions. The team is only the fourth team to defeat a rival in the semifinals by five or more goals.

The other three clubs that achieved the feat ended up champions. Therefore, the most recent of them was Flamengo in 2019, which beat Grêmio, at Maracanã, 5 x 0.

Of course, Atlético Nacional (COL) beat Danubio (URU) 6 x 0. In 2014, San Lorenzo (ARG) beat Bolivar (BOL) 5 x 0.
