Since the European Championship, Maxim De Cuyper has been well on his way to becoming the Red Devils‘ regular left back. The 23-year-old was already in the starting line-up against Israel last month, then missed the match in France, but returned to the starting eleven against Italy on Thursday. With a wonderful bang he also scored his first international goal there.
In Italy they now also know De Cuyper and that became apparent very quickly. Barely a few days after his goal, he was again in the Italian newspapers, this time with the news that AC Milan would show interest. De Cuyper should compete with Theo Hernandez at the Rossoneri.
Real estate agent responds to rumors surrounding De Cuyper
A transfer would not happen until the summer of 2025 at the earliest and then Milan will also have to bring in their money bags. After all, Club would aim for a transfer fee of around 20 million euros for its youth product. A transfer will therefore still require a lot of effort.
But in Italy they do take the news seriously. That’s how it went Number Ten visit Axel Vergeylen, De Cuyper’s agent, for an initial reaction to Milan’s interest.
A lot of interest in De Cuyper
“A player like Maxim attracts a lot of interest, without a doubt also in Italy,” he says. “For obvious reasons I cannot comment on the names of the interested clubs. But Serie A is certainly a big competition.”
De Cuyper therefore seems to be open to a transfer. “He has to go step by step. At the moment it is at Club Brugge and at the right time he has to take the next step in his career. The only goal is to reach as high as possible and play at the best possible club .”
