BVB, News: Toni Kroos sharply criticizes Borussia Dortmund
The brothers Toni and Felix Kroos took a hard line against Borussia Dortmund in their podcast “Einfach mal Luppen”.
“If we had needed another example week for Dortmund, it would have been this one. 7-1 in the Champions League, even if you have to say, against a second-class opponent. And then that typically unpleasant away Bundesliga game on Saturday at 3:30 p.m . That will just be lost,” said Toni Kroos and emphasized: “This one face won’t be meaningful in the long run because they won’t get to the Champions League final every year. In the end, Dortmund has to define what’s happening in the league and that has been more than capable of being expanded for a few years, I think you could say.”
Brother Felix particularly criticized BVB’s performance in the first half against Union Berlin. “It’s really very shocking what Dortmund did. So bad, I didn’t feel like I won a duel, there was no pace at all. Totally incomprehensible,” he said.
The former Iron player also criticized the poor communication on the pitch: “Announcements from outside that no one on the pitch noticed. So really: no eye contact with each other, no interaction. Everyone tried to do their own thing.”
In the Champions League, BVB got the full six points after two games and even took first place. In the Bundesliga there are ten points from six games – the gap to league leaders FC Bayern Munich is four points.
