Maarten Paes has the opportunity to strengthen the Indonesian National Team as the schedule changes 2024 AFF Cup.
Originally the AFF Cup was planned to take place on 21 November-21 December 2024. This schedule has been changed to 9 December-5 January 2025.
This schedule change provides an opportunity for the Indonesian National Team to be strengthened by the best players. Although, the AFF Cup is not included in the FIFA calendar.

Paes is one of the players who has the opportunity to be called up. This is because the FC Dallas goalkeeper does not have any agenda with the club.
It is certain that Dallas will not qualify for the 2024 MLS playoffs. Currently, Dallas is in 11th position in the Western Conference.
Dallas is outside the top nine in the Western Conference to have a chance of competing for a wild card spot.
