Celebrating History: NAC’s Heartfelt Tribute to Poland’s Liberation of Breda

The match between NAC Breda and RKC Waalwijk focuses on the liberation of Breda in the Second World War by Polish soldiers. There was a beautiful banner of more than a hundred meters on display, the kick-off was provided by 101-year-old Lieutenant Eugeniusz Niedzielski and there was an atmospheric action after 19 minutes and 44 seconds.

Niedzielski is the only living veteran who was involved in the liberation of Breda.

Eugeniusz Niedzielski is the only living veteran who was involved in the liberation of Breda and was allowed to kick off the match. After kicking off, the 101-year-old war veteran took a seat in the stands and saw a beautiful tribute after just over 19 minutes.

Earlier in the evening, volunteers Wendy Dujardin, Leon Deckers, Martijn Koks and Myrthe Koppelaars already received a Polish award. The foursome has invested excessive energy in strengthening and cherishing the memory of Poland’s efforts for independence during and after the Second World War.
