Centenario Trophy and Armada Trophy, Sánchez Barcaiztegui Memorial, two great challenges for the RCR Santiago de la Ribera

The Real Club de Regatas Santiago de la Ribera is already looking at its two major events to close this 2024. These two regattas, the most important in its sporting calendar, are joined by the Winter Series for the Snipe class in the month of November (16 and 30), regatta-training convened by the territorial Secretary of the Snipe Class.

The first delivery will be in just a few weeks, October 26 and 27, with the VI Centenario Trophy, for the Optimist, Snipe, ILCA 4 and ILCA 6 classes, for the latter two being scoring and qualifying for the regional. A regatta that has been growing year after year and in just four editions, in 2024 we will reach the fifth, has become one of the most important for Children’s Sailing and Dinghy Sailing in the Region of Murcia.

This 2024 will close with the most emblematic regatta with the longest history of the Club, the most relevant nationally and internationally in the Snipe class, and it is none other than the XLV Spanish Navy Trophy – XII Marcial Sánchez-Barcaiztegui Memorial – XIX Azor Trophy Environmental – Paco Pérez Memorial that reaches its 45 years of history.

An appointment that will be held on its usual date, between December 6 and 8. The best Snipe class boats at national level attend this regatta in the Mar Menor, coming from Andalusia, Valencian Community, Galicia, Community of Madrid, Asturias, Basque Country as well as the locals: Region of Murcia. An international fleet also takes part, giving an extra quality to what the national sailors already contribute.

Three events remain in the Mar Menor, in just three months, and they will mark this end of the year for the Real Club de Regatas Santiago de la Ribera. The first, the Centenario Trophy, October 26 and 27, will be followed by that test (regatta-training) that will serve as a fine-tuning, within the Winter Series, with a view to that last installment: XLV Spanish Navy Trophy – XII Marcial Sánchez Memorial- Barcaiztegui, being the culmination of the regattas organized by the RCR de Regatas Santiago de la Ribera.
