Charleroi took 2 points out of 15, but Rik De Mil remains… quite positive and explains himself – All football

Sporting Charleroi lost poorly 0-2 on its own ground against OHL. However, Rik De Mil, true to his reputation as an optimist, did not despair and pointed out the right carolo match in the game.

Rik De Mil could have sunk into fatalism after a third consecutive defeat, and this time rather pitiful, against OHL. The Carolos dominated in the game (as pointed out by Oscar Garcia who felt that his team had played “one of their worst matches of the season”), but up front, it was very painful.

“It’s always difficult to make a correct analysis after a defeat, because you can quickly be very negative. But I saw a Charleroi team which gave OHL difficulties, which had the match in hand, had a organized dry cleaning”, detailed De Mil.

If he was delighted that his team played at times “not bad, or even good”, Rik De Mil was not blind: “The truth is that we don’t create chances. But that’s okay. come, because when you are able to play at this level for 90 minutes, the spaces are created, the chances come”, he then hoped, before highlighting another problem.

No mentality problem in Charleroi

“In recent weeks, we have given our opponents goals. On a nice build-up from the back, Etienne (Camara) loses a ball that he must never lose. And even if this ball is lost, you have to make the mistake professional behind,” regrets the Zebras coach. “After that, there is a cross from Mbenza in the box which always has to be taken back… and behind you take the 0-2, and you know it is going to be very difficult.”

In any case, for Rik De Mil, the problem is not in the head. “If there were mental problems, then we would have a huge problem at Charleroi. But no, we try everything and make mistakes, that’s all. We are making too many mistakes in recent weeks and they are costly. But with a young team, that’s sometimes the price to pay. It’s a reason: not an excuse.”
