The president of the International Olympic Committee arrived on Wednesday October 16 in Dakar, host city of the Youth Olympic Games in 2026 which will take place from October 31 to November 13, 2026. In Senegal, Thomas Bach met athletes and officials of the movement Olympic Games, and visited the facilities for the next Summer YOG in 2026. Thomas Bach notably visited the Iba Mar Diop stadium and the Olympic swimming pool. Thomas Bach, who will not seek a third term during the 142nd session of the IOC, scheduled for March 18 to 21, 2025 in Greece, is expected to travel to Uganda at the end of the week.
