Clermont Foot 63 formalized this Wednesday the signing of its new coach Laurent Batlles. He replaces Sébastien Bichard in his position.
Laurent Battles is the new coach of Clermont Foot 63. The new Clermont coach was officially appointed this Wednesday. The club he takes over is currently 12th in Ligue 2 with 12 points. The Auvergne club had been coached by Sébastien Bichard since March 2024. Battles signed a contract until June 2026.
«I’m very happy to be part of this adventure, I hope it will take me far enough with the group, even if the situation is not obvious. I saw that there is quality in this squad, we will try to move forward together. When the club called me, I didn’t hesitate for a single second” Batlles said after his appointment in a statement. The former coach of Saint-Etienne will have the mission of keeping the Clermont club in Ligue 2. Battles’ first match will be the reception of Lorient on Friday at 8 p.m. Lorient is currently second in Ligue 2.
