College Football: The best of Week 8 — L’intercetto.it

There is no peace for Alabama (7) which seems to have imploded after the victory against Georgia, which was followed by the defeat against Vanderbilt, the ugly and painful success against South Carolina and now the defeat against Tennessee (11) by 24 to 17.
Kalen DeBoer’s team no longer seems to have an offensive game capable of scoring points, or at least moving the chain with regularity. As far as it could, the Crimson Tide defense managed to contain Tennessee and especially QB Nico Iamaleava, but there wasn’t much for RB Dylan Sampson to do.
The Volunteers cannot be considered growing given that they too had many problems reaching the endzone, so much so that in the first 16 drives (between the 2 teams) only 7 points arrived.
If nothing else, what is interesting for Tennessee is the standings within the Conference, which sees them still in the running for the Championship and with a 3-1 record in the SEC they are behind only Texas A&M, LSU and Georgia.
For Alabama, now that the playoff objective seems to be fading away, they have to complete a season at least in a dignified way. It won’t be easy especially when they have to face LSU away from home.

…more in brief…
– Affirmation of LSU (8) who found their sixth success of the season on the difficult Arkansas pitch, 34 to 10.
Worth highlighting is the performance of Freshman RB Caden Durham who scored 3 TDs. After the first defeat against USC, LSU seems to have found the right condition and next Saturday against Texas A&M it will be a clash for first place in the SEC.

– Devastating performance Indiana (19) che asfalta Nebraska per 56 a 7.
Raiola, the Cornhuskers’ QB, did very poorly, throwing 3 interceptions and no TDs. Nebraska’s good defense seen at the beginning of the year seems like a distant memory. Indiana’s 7-0 record is historic, having only happened once in their history.

– We are starting to glimpse a better future for Florida given that, in the victory against Kentucky 48 to 20, he showed off freshman RB Jadan Baugh who scored 5 TDs. Also as the starting QB was the other freshman DJ Lagway given Graham Mertz’s injury.

– Wins despite many difficulties Miami (6)who worked hard against Louisville to get the upper hand.
The score of 52 to 45 is proof of this. Cam Ward excellent with 4 TD passes, but a fumble at 45 to 38, later canceled and considered incomplete, could have reopened the match and given a different ending.

– On Friday night the upset between Oklahoma State and Oklahoma came close BYU (13) ended with the result 38 to 35 for the Cougars.
BYU was ruining a fantastic season where, still undefeated, they lead the Big 12.
For the Cowboys, RB Ollie Gordon II finally met his standards, author of 3 total TDs and for the second time in the season over 100 rushing yards.

– FCS parenthesis with the match between number 1 South Dakota State and number 2 North Dakota State for what has been the classic par excellence of the “lower level” of university football for years now. The Bison prevailed in the hard-fought match 13-9.
