Hubei Daily News (Reporter Dai Hui, Correspondents Xing Zuqiao, Chen Xiaolin, Yin Wenlong) On October 10, the three-standard Loumen extra-long tunnel of the Lichuan-Xianfeng Expressway, invested and constructed by Hubei Communications Investment Group and constructed by China Communications Construction Company No. 2 Public Transport Bureau, once again Found a large cave. The survey results show that the cave runs through the main tunnel of the left tunnel and is connected to the extra large cave on the right tunnel that was discovered not long ago.

The Loumen Tunnel is located in Dashaxi Village, Shaxi Township, Lichuan City. It has a total length of 3,387 meters and a maximum burial depth of approximately 346 meters. The large cave dug this time stretches for more than 300 meters and is similar to the size of a standard football field. According to observations, the cave is in a honeycomb shape and is divided into three layers: upper, middle and lower. The Lixian Expressway runs through the middle layer of the cave. Currently, builders are carrying out critical construction work. The geological structure of the western Hubei project group is extremely complex and is called a “civil engineering forbidden area” by the engineering community. Some complex tunnel projects are even called “world-class difficult projects.” The Hefeng section of the Yilai Expressway built by Hubei Communications Investment Group has been completed this year. Completed and opened to traffic.

After the Lixian Expressway is completed, it will become the main traffic road connecting the core areas of Wuling Mountain in Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, and Guizhou. The opening time from Lichuan to Xianfeng will be shortened from 2.5 hours to 1 hour.
