Last Saturday, the 2nd team from 1. BC Straubing played the first home game day of the season. The teams from TSV Vilsbiburg II and BSV Passau 2022 II were guests. After a draw and a clear defeat on the first matchday, the goal was now the first win of the season.
The start of the double match day went well and after the double matches the Straubingers were ahead 2-1. After victories were also achieved in the men’s and women’s singles, Straubinger’s first win of the season was within reach. In the mixed doubles, the Gäubodenstädter were already 1-0 ahead in sets, but their opponents from Vilsbiburg fought back and finally took the two remaining sets. This resulted in a 4:4 draw for Straubing at the start of the first home game day. Many encounters lasted the full three sets and offered an almost tangible tension.
In the second encounter, the boys and girls from 1. BC Straubing wanted to finally get their first win of the season and take the positive momentum from the first home game with them. Unfortunately, the men were unable to build on their success and had to hand over all singles and doubles games to their Passau opponents, meaning that victory was no longer possible at this point. The Straubing girls won the women’s singles and women’s doubles and were able to reduce the gap. In the final mixed doubles, the Gäubodenstädter then fought for a 2-0 set win and thus achieved a result of 3:5.
The next two match days will take place on Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 in Zwiesel against BC Grün-Weiß Obernzell and TV Zwiesel II. Now we have to fight for our first win of the season.
