Costa Rica imposed its law on Judo in Panama

The Costa Rica National Judo Team shone with its own light in the Open Centro Norte and the International Cadet and Junior Cup, held this weekend in Panama City.

In the International Cup the following results were obtained: Female Cadets category, the judokas Jimena Salas (-44kg), Jimena Morales (-52kg) and Jimena Arce (-57kg) won the gold medal, reaffirming the great potential of the young promises of Costa Rican judo.

For their part, in the Male Cadets category, athletes Cristian Marín (-55kg), Alberto Montes (-81kg) and Mathias Estrada (-91kg) also took the gold medal, consolidating themselves as emerging figures in the discipline.

In the Junior Male category, the achievements continued with the gold medals for Brandon Salas (-73kg), Gerson Lagos (-81kg), Mathías Estrada (-90kg) and Jimena Arce (-57kg), who dominated in their respective divisions. In addition, silver medals were achieved thanks to the performances of Yohel Guzmán (-73kg), Ashley Chinchilla (-48kg), Jimena Morales (-52kg) and Yuliana Berrocal (-57kg), while Bryan Chavarría (-60kg), Alberto Montes (-81kg) and Jimena Salas (-48kg) won the bronze medal.

On Sunday, in the Open Centro Norte competition, the Costa Rican delegation continued to achieve success. On this occasion, the gold medals went to Jimena Arce (-57kg), Natalia Villalobos (-63kg) and David Domínguez (-66kg). The silver medals were won by Yuliana Berrocal (-57kg), Josué Téllez (-66kg), Yohel Guzmán (-73kg), Gerson Lagos (-81kg) and José Gómez (+100kg). Finally, the team closed with bronze medals obtained by Ashley Chinchilla (-48kg), Mariangel Ramírez (-52kg), Jimena Herrera (-70kg), Gabriel Zamora (-60kg), Alejandro Mora (-73kg), Esteban Solera (- 81kg) and Michael Sierra (+100kg).
