CR7 the curtain call with Szczesny and the jab at Juve: “…going to a big club”

In today’s football any word spoken inside a stadium can and it will be used against you. With cameras and cell phones practically everywhere, more or less intentional gaffes are always around the corner. Cristiano Ronaldo‘s joke in the locker room tunnel shortly before Poland and Portugal entered the pitch to his former Juventus teammate Wojciech Szczesny was definitely unhappy and is causing angry reactions from the Juventus fans. Let’s see what the two former footballers said to each other Juventus shortly before the start of the Nations League match.

A dig disguised as a joke?

It took a few days for the jokes “stolen” from the cameras present at the National Stadium in Warsaw were posted on social media and caused a series of reactions more or less broken down in Italy and around the world. Before scoring his 133° gol wearing the jersey of the Portuguese national team, Cristiano Ronaldo met with his former teammate, in civilian clothes since he decided to leave the Polish national team. The former Juventus number one had approached the Portuguese superstar to make his three children happy, great fans by Cr7: the atmosphere is clearly jovial, jokes and laughter fly but the tone changes when Tek tells him that he has transferred to Barcelona after his official withdrawal from competition following the expiry of his contract with Juventus.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s joke is sharp: “Incredible, you had to withdraw to go to a big club”. The two former teammates laughed and the episode seemed to end there. The problem is that the Portuguese superstar is no stranger to such attacks: in his opinion, in fact, the Turin club is not a big player in European football, especially since he left. Cr7 then entered the field and led his Portugal to one clear victory away 3-1 against the hosts Poland but, once the video started making the rounds on the internet, yet another outbreak broke out media storm.

The fans of the other teams did not spare themselves ironic jokes while the Juventus club preferred to avoid reacting for now. Predictable, given that after the sentence last April which condemned Juventus to pay almost 10 million in back wages, relations are at historic lows.
