Cremona Sera – “NBA of the 80s – The five legends”: the photographic exhibition on the great American basketball at the Catholic University. It will be inaugurated on Friday 18th; the photos exhibited will be auctioned for charity

The exhibition that will be inaugurated on Friday 18 October at 11.30 am in the classrooms of the Cremona campus of the Catholic University is called “NBA of the 80s – The five legends”. The exhibition features 58 great shots from the years that made history of the NBA, thanks to Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan e Julius Erving.

For the occasion, the former wagon warehouse on the Santa Monica campus will be enriched with 58 vintage photographs, some of which are unique and very rare. They will represent the highlights of those years that made the history of the NBA, thanks to five players who became legendary: Larry Bird, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Julius Erving. The photos were made available by Giorgio Gandolfialready a journalist and sent, in those years, to the United States by the Giganti del Basket magazine.

Until October 26, the exhibition will be open to everyone, from Monday to Friday from 8.30 to 18.30, on Saturday from 9.30 to 18.30 and on Sunday from 14.30 to 18.30. This will be an absolute preview of the exhibition which will take place in Brescia, from 29 October to 6 November.

“This exhibition also represents an opportunity to bear witness to the values ​​of sport to the younger generations” he states Matteo Burgazzoliresponsible for the Vice Direction for Cremona of the Catholic University. “It is therefore very positive that it has already attracted the attention of many schools in our area”.

The initiative is organized with the collaboration of Rotary Club of Brescia and Manerbioof the Photographic group from Bagnolo Mellafrom the Giorgio Gandolfi Agency and with the patronage of Municipality of Cremona. The event is also in collaboration with Vanoli Basketball Cremona, Ferraroni Juvi Cremona, Sansebasket e Cremona Pink.

The exhibition will end with a charity auction, in person and via webinar, of the photographs on display, at the MO.CA in Brescia, where all proceeds will be donated to baskin, the inclusive basketball born in Cremona and now spread throughout Italy and many European countries.
