Cruzeiro waits for Corinthians or Racing in the South American final. The two teams will face each other next Thursday (31), in Argentina, in the second leg. Brazilians and Argentines drew 2-2 in the first game, in São Paulo.
Cruzeiro is the 11th Brazilian team to reach the South American final. São Paulo, Flamengo, Athletico, Fluminense, Internacional, Bragantino, Goiás, Chapecoense, Ponte Preta and Fortaleza have also achieved the feat.
The final will be played in a single game. The decisive duel will take place at the La Nueva Olla stadium, in Asunción, Paraguay, on November 23rd.
Cruzeiro returns to the field next Wednesday (6). The team from Minas Gerais hosts Flamengo, at 9pm (Brasília time), in a game valid for the 32nd round of the Brasileirão.
How was the game
Lanús controlled much of the first half, but was hindered by three factors: Cássio, crossbar and offside. The home team were more dangerous during the first 40 minutes of the game, but saw Marcelino Moreno, their main player, have a great goal disallowed for offside and stop in a miracle by Cássio (and then the crossbar). Boggio was also a prominent name and, like his teammates, saw the Cruzeiro goalkeeper make another save.
