Stephen Curry will miss at least the next two games for the Golden State Warriors to treat an ankle injury he suffered in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday night.
Curry had an MRI after the game and showed no structural damage revealing a left peroneal strain. The team indicated that he will be reevaluated on Friday.
Golden State will play back-to-back games on Tuesday and Wednesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Their next game after Curry is examined will be Saturday against Houston.
Curry exited for good with 7:55 left in the fourth quarter of a 112-104 loss.
He briefly returned to the game with 8:08 left when he re-injured his ankle trying to break away from coverage on the outside. It happened near the final edge of the Golden State bench and he limped into the tunnel that leads to the locker room.
At 2:43 of the third quarter Curry initially limped to the bench and remained seated for the remainder of the period.
The two-time MVP and all-time 3-point leader in the NBA finished with 18 points, six assists and four rebounds, shooting 6 of 11 with four 3-pointers.
