DETROIT LIONS: Jameson Williams faces suspension

Jameson Williams faces another suspension. The Detroit Lions wide receiver will reportedly receive a two-game suspension for violating NFL policy regarding performance-enhancing substances.

Williams had already been suspended for six games at the start of the 2023 season for betting on sporting events, but not on NFL games, at the Lions’ training facility. That suspension was later shortened after the NFL changed its policy so he had to sit out the first four games of the season.

The new farce fits seamlessly into his previously manageably successful career. Despite his obvious talent, which the Lions took in the first round of the 2022 draft from Alabama, Williams has struggled with injuries. He only played six games in his rookie season as he recovered from a torn ACL. His second year was also affected by the competition suspension.

This season, however, things went much better for him. The 23-year-old has already collected 361 yards and three touchdowns. Williams will miss both the home game against the Tennessee Titans and an important division game against the Green Bay Packers. The exact substance Williams used has not been disclosed.
