Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys – horror injury for Hutchinson

The Detroit Lions prevailed against the Dallas Cowboys. But Aidan Hutchinson suffered a serious injury, which Tom Brady also commented on.

A dramatic incident occurred in a thrilling game between the Detroit Lions and the Dallas Cowboys: Aidan Hutchinson suffered a broken tibia in the third quarter of the Lions’ clear 47-9 victory, as the franchise announced after the game. The scene occurred at AT&T Stadium when Hutchinson had an unfortunate collision with teammate Alim McNeill while attempting to sack Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The defensive end had to be treated on the field for several minutes.

The incident visibly moved players from both teams. Hutchinson’s team itself formed a circle around the 24-year-old as he lay on the ground and medics rushed to him. Hutchinson was taken off the field on a stretcher while covering his eyes, as can be seen in photos.

NFL legend Tom Brady commented on US broadcaster Fox: “It’s heartbreaking to see this.” Lions quarterback Jared Goff even had tears in his eyes while Hutchinson lay on the turf. Hutchinson’s teammate Alex Anzalone was also concerned, saying after the game: “Seeing him in that situation kind of brings you back down to earth. We play a brutal and dangerous sport… to let him go out there like that “Seeing it is hard from a human perspective.”

Lions head coach Dan Campbell was equally concerned about his player’s condition at the press conference after the game: “It’s tough. He’s in good hands at the moment. He’s being looked after. Obviously he’s going to be out for a while. That’s it hard. It’s hard to lose someone like him.”
