Die Trade-Candidates in the NFL
Less than two weeks is the window for possible trades in the NFL still open. Traditionally, there could now be more and more movement on the topic, especially because the playoffs are a long way off for some teams and others are in the middle of business and/or hit by injuries. sport.de shows you which players could change teams in the next two weeks.
Josh Uche (Edge Rusher, New England Patriots)
New England quarterback Drake Maye recently said he could be the man for the future. For this, the Patriots must improve their environment. In order to collect draft ammunition among others, trades could be an issue in Boston. Josh Uche would make a solid edge rusher who was already a target for several teams in the offseason before he extended with New England.
Jonathan Jones (cornerback, New England Patriots)
Cornerback Jonathan Jones could also be a possible candidate that the Patriots could use to extend their transition. At 31, the pass defender is no longer part of the young squad, so he would probably prefer to be with a team that doesn’t have any major upheaval ahead of it.
Emmanuel Ogbah (Edge, Miami Dolphins)
Without Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins obviously weren’t competitive. The former playoff contender recently became a trade candidate. And that’s where Emmanuel Ogbah comes into play, who would certainly like to hunt for a quarterback again for a contender given his old age. And pass rushers are always sought-after trade targets.
Greg Newsome (cornerback, Cleveland Browns)
A record of 1-6, an injured (albeit previously weak) quarterback: the season is actually already over for the Cleveland Browns. After the departure of Amari Cooper, there could certainly be more trades for Cleveland. One candidate: Greg Newsome, who is still young, talented and capable of development and will certainly be interesting for teams.
Cooper Kupp (Wide Receiver, Los Angeles Rams)
As already in the last year, Kupp missed the early phase of the season. Last year he couldn’t help, his Rams were still leading the playoffs, this year without Aaron Donald and Puka Nacua (also not injured) it was significantly more difficult, but LA started 2-4. Does that make Kupp a trade candidate to save money and get draft capital? With Nacua, a successor would be ready anyway.
Diontae Johnson (Wide Receiver, Carolina Panthers)
The Panthers’ season is – once again – going down the drain. It’s clear that the NFL teams are looking in Carolina to see if there’s anything to gain. And a lot of it is not factual, but the wide receiver could be the silverware that the Panthers give up to further advance the rebuild.
Andre Cisco (Safety, Jacksonville Jaguars)
After the London defeat against the Bears, Cisco made a harsh judgment about his own team. And a dissatisfied player would probably be the most likely thing to trade if it came to that, right? So much at least for the theory. But it would be a logical path for everyone to give the veteran a fresh start and recoup some draft capital in the process.
Walker Little (Offensive Tackle, Jacksonville Jaguars)
Even though the Jags returned with a win at Wembley, a lot has to happen before they can really play for something again this season. Accordingly, the Jaguars should be on the radar as a trade candidate and a possible departure would be Walker Little, who was pushed into the reserve role this season but was previously a starter in Jacksonville.
Treylon Burks (Wide Receiver, Tennessee Titans)
In the current sporting situation, the Titans are a small trade candidate, especially if they want to prepare for another upheaval, because Will Levis does not seem to be the solution at quarterback. Veteran DeAndre Hopkins is already gone and the much younger Treylon Burks may still be an option.
Mike Williams (Wide Receiver, New York Jets)
It was an eventful few weeks for the receiver. First Aaron Rodgers publicly blamed him for an interception, then he slipped down the depth chart due to Davante Adams’ obligation and was therefore only used sporadically in Week 7. His 19 offensive snaps were only about half of his normal workload. Of course, the ongoing trade rumors surrounding the wide receiver fit in there.
Azeez Ojulari (linebacker, New York Giants)
In the NFC East, the New York Giants are once again greeting us from the bottom of the table and because Daniel Jones doesn’t seem to be the solution again, the G-Men will probably have to look for a new quarterback in the draft. For this, a small amount of capital would not be enough, and for eyes, one could get this. The 24-year-old has already had good moments this season that he was able to use to promote himself.
Budda Baker (Safety, Arizona Cardinals)
The Arizona Cardinals have been treated on the spot in recent years and have tended to be in the bottom third of the NFL. A long-term change is therefore necessary and for this you have to get to the silverware from time to time. This includes in this case Budda Baker, who was one of the top performers in the past years, but would therefore also bring a good price.
