At the sight of the soldiers he attempted to escape
CASAGIOVE – He was driving a Smart Fortwo coupé from a rental company when, in Via Lovara di Casagiove, at the sight of the Carabinieri patrol, he attempted to escape. Pursued and blocked, he was then subjected to a personal and vehicular search following which he was found in possession of narcotic substances, packaging material and cash.
In particular, hidden inside the sock of the 39-year-old’s right leg, the police found a cellophane wrapper containing gr. 0.96 by cocaine while, inside the coin purse placed in the glove compartment of the car, five wrappers were found containing respectively gr. 0.40, gr. 0.32, gr. 0.45, gr. 0.31 and gr. 0.36 between cocaine and Crackbeyond packaging material. Inside the vehicle, resting on the passenger side mat, it was also found and seized a baseball bat made of wood with a length of 61.5 cm and a diameter of 4.5 cm. .
The search also extended to his home and allowed the discovery and seizure of a further four doses of cocaine weighing 1g. 2.13 and two doses of crack for a weight of grams. 0.67, as well as material for packaging the narcotic.
The sum of €75 believed to be the proceeds of illicit activity was also seized.
