The general meeting of the Judo club took place on Friday October 18 in the presence of the mayor of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine Michel Champigny, judokas, parents of young judokas, partners and friends. .
A year full of positive results
The numerous participants at this annual meeting noticed that this year, two veterans of the club, Patrice de Lavau and Virginie Delaunay, won the titles of vice-champions of France. “This year we also saw motivated young people on the tatami, parents who participated a lot for the interclubs in March, great results for our juniors Inès Douady and Darian de Lavau as well as results in all age groups” , highlights President Laurent Rion.
Four black belts were obtained over the season, bringing to 52 the number of black belts obtained since the creation of the club in 1965. This very honorary result is obtained from a constant workforce of 95 licensees distributed in the three disciplines offered by the club (taïso , judo and ju-jitsu self-defense). In addition, the club obtained the “Bronze Club” label from the French Judo Federation thanks to quality teaching. Referees need to be trained to obtain the silver label.
The club will celebrate its 60th anniversary in 2025
The cash flow is in balance thanks to institutions (City of Sainte-Maure-de-Touraine and departmental council) and various partners in order to plan travel to the various championships in France and abroad. Next year will be the opportunity to celebrate the club’s 60th anniversary on 1is March 2025 with the presence of club alumni. The interclub meeting is scheduled for March 30 and the departmental ju-jitsu course on June 8.
