EBENSEE. This year the market town’s top athletes were once again honored in Ebensee for their outstanding achievements.
“Parents, coaches and officials create the basis for sporting success. Our top athletes, whose names appear in the results around the globe, are great advertising media for our home town of Ebensee. Above all, Verena Mayr, the world championship bronze medal winner in the heptathlon, and Maximilian Steiner, World Cup participant in ski jumping and winner of the Continental Cup,” recalled Mayor Sabine Promberger, Deputy Mayor Franziska Zohner-Kienesberger and Deputy Mayor Hermann Neuböck in a laudatory speech.
The successful Ebensee athletes of the last two years were awarded the market town of Ebensee’s Sports Medal of Honor in gold, silver or bronze
Gold
Gold went to Verena Mayer (athletics), Maximilian Steiner (ski jumping), Undine Gamsjäger, (judo), Dominik Aigner, Christian Feichtinger, Reinhard Kreuzer, Christian Loidl, Wolfgang Loidl-Kendler, Hermann Watzinger, Markus Watzinger (sailing), Sarah Steininger (Judo) and Rudolf Lahnsteiner (Judo).
Silber
The following athletes were honored with silver: Tobias Scheibl (judo), Desiree Steininger (judo), Hannah Höllinger (athletics), Katrin Kammerlander (athletics), Isabelle Holzinger (athletics), Susanne Schwaiger (air rifle), Gottfried Lang (racing bike), Hubert Preiner (running), Max Redl (alpine skiing), Jakob Edthofer (alpine skiing), Mathias Harringer (athletics) and Felix Simmel (tennis).
Bronze
Bronze went to Peter Fasching, Max Huemer, Gottlieb Pesendorfer, Julia Pesendorfer (sailing), Caroline Holzinger (athletics) and Sylvia Ahamer (stock sports).
