It is a period of great activity for Italian eBasket. The first day of the FIP eBasket Tour 2024 (Italian 5v5 and 1v1 championship) was held and the qualifiers of the Italian eBasket League began, a 3v3 tournament organized by FIP and the Serie A Basket League with the final phase in attendance scheduled for the Frecciarossa Finale Eight next February in Turin.

The eNational team arrives at this second phase of the eFIBA III Tournament with 11 victories in 12 pre-qualification matches, second in the standings after France (one victory each in the direct match against Italy) in Group C.

The Qualifiers are played with the so-called Swiss formula, where teams are paired day by day based on the win-loss record of the previous days.
Italy begins the Qualifiers on October 29th at 7:00 pm (Twitch live on the channel https://www.twitch.tv/italbasketofficial) against Hungary, fifth in group B after Türkiye, Croatia, Poland and Belgium). In case of victory they face the winner of France-Serbia at 8.30pm, in case of defeat they face the loser, also of France-Serbia, at 9.30pm. The competitions of the following days are to be determined based on the results. In the pre-qualifications, a total of 5055 unique spectators followed the twelve eAzzurri matches with 8520 views.

Casters of the Twitch live broadcasts, passionate and competent, are Fabrizio Antinori, Giovanni Musig, Simone Trimarchi and the former Italian player and team leader of the eNazionale Andrea Pecile.

The Qualification will be played from 29 October to 1 November and 16 teams will participate: Great Britain, Belgium, Spain, Sweden, Croatia, Finland, Turkey, Switzerland, France, Serbia, Hungary, Portugal, Israel, Germany, Poland and Italy. eight qualify for the Final Phase of the European Championship which will be played from 2 to 3 November with the direct elimination formula, best of three matches, on a tennis scoreboard.

“Don’t let Hungary’s fifth position in the other group fool you – states Ilyass Kamal, 24 years old, captain of the eNational team – it is still a strong and well-organised team. We have to be careful before going on to challenge France, one of the favorites of this tournament and vice-world champion. Having already beaten her in the first phase means nothing. We start on equal terms, but they are one of the best teams on the continent.”
