Fabian Schleystudied mechanical engineering and vocational education from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), is a passionate judoka who has been actively practicing the sport for 37 years. Through his voluntary work as a department head at the Budo Club Karlsruhe, Fabian came into professional contact with the sport of judo and is now managing director of the club and head of the Karlsruhe sports boarding school. Until recently he was also the state coach for the U18 age group in the ARGE Judo Baden-Württemberg.

At the DJB, Fabian is now taking on the position of education officer in the “Young Engagement” area. In this role he will focus on developing new youth projects.

“I’m looking forward to bringing my ideas and experiences from club and association work to a new level and creating innovative projects for the next generation,” says Fabian about his future tasks.

Finley Heinze supports the DJB as a working student in the area of ​​social media. He has been studying digital media at Mainz University since October. In his new role, he will focus on creating video content, particularly for the national team and national judo highlights. Finley’s connection to judo is deeply rooted: his grandfather, Otto Heinze, was a two-time German lightweight champion and a member of the national team over 60 years ago. In addition, Finley even has the “Ju” – which stands for “The Gentle” in judo – in his name, which reads “Finley Ju Marco Heinze” in full.
