Ferencvaros-Nice (1-0): beaten in Hungary, the Niçois already in great difficulty in the Europa League

Nice did not survive the Hungarian fervor. Dominated in the Ferencvaros temple in Budapest, Franck Haise’s players never recovered from the opponent’s opening score at the start of the match and lost by the smallest of margins (1-0) for the 3rd day of Europa League. Already slowed down from the start by Real Sociedad (1-1), before a heavy defeat for Rome against Lazio (4-1), OGC Nice suffered a second consecutive setback in three days, and only reached a small point in this new C3 format.

In difficulty from the start of the match without their Dante manager to lead their defense, the Aiglons cracked after a quarter of an hour of play on a distant set piece. Already at fault on the marking and taken behind his back, Moïse Bombito deflected the head of Frenchman Ibrahim Cissé into his own goal (1-0, 15th). Not necessarily decisive on this opening score, Marcin Bulka then showed himself impeccable to prevent his teammates from sinking before half-time.

Provisional 31st place

The second period was hardly more pleasant on the Nice side despite the entry of Jérémie Boga, and with Bulka still as decisive in his cages, helped by Abdelmonem who replaced him on his line (1-0, 63rd) . The expulsion of Pablo Rosario 10 minutes from the end of the match annihilated any hope of a comeback at the end of the match.

With 1 point in 3 days, Nice, and its provisional 31st place, already sees the Top 8 and direct qualification for the round of 16 slipping away. Be careful even with their place in the Top 24 to go to the play-offs which is very far from assured. For this, we will already have to react in two weeks at the Allianz Riviera against Twente. But until then the Aiglons have two other European caliber prey on their way in Ligue 1, Monaco and Brest, in the space of five days, October 27 and November 2.
