Iram Casas and Iris Vázquez were the winners of the traditional category, men’s and women’s, respectively, of the Archery Fest 2024 Archery Tournament, which took place last weekend at the ‘La Rinconada’ ranch located in the town of Samalayuca.
The tournament had the participation of more than 250 competitors and was held from Friday to Sunday with different activities.
The event got underway on Friday with the delivery of kits and an ‘Introduction to Archery’ lecture. On Saturday the rookie field and fantasy shooting phases took place, and on Sunday the final stage of the competition took place.
In the traditional women’s category, first place went to Iris Vázquez, second place went to Liliana Mancinas and third place went to Nancy Vicencio. In the traditional men’s branch, the top honors went to Iram Casas, second place to Israel Hernández and third to Luis Montoya.
In the men’s veterans, the winner was Abie Durán, Enrique Cañedo finished second and Fernando González third.
Roció Valdez took first place in the women’s pulley category, Lucía Casas with second place and Ofelia Cárdenas with third.
In Men’s Open, first place went to Jaime Porfirio, second place was Jorge Silvia and third place was Ricardo García.
Ángel Morales, Manuel Ochoa and Luis Robles occupied places 1, 2 and 3, respectively, in the BHI men’s category.
In the barebow category, first place went to Erick Calavera, second place went to Javier Cufarfan and third place went to Maximiliano Castillo.
In mixed youth, first place went to Ángel Gabriel García, second belonged to Emiliano Fraire and third to Daniel Said Terrazas.
The children’s category was divided into two sections of categories, in ‘Children A’ Aylin Alexandra Mora was first place, André Ontiveros second and Montserrat Sánchez third. In the ‘Boys B’ category, José Felipe Cerecedo finished in first place, José Antonio Haro in second and Yakoota Casas in third.
Finally the winner of the ‘Apache Challenge’ was Iram Casas.
During the awards ceremony, the ‘Alejandro Avitía’ merit recognition was presented to goalkeeper Héctor Ponce for his career in the sport.
