The National Basketball League has published the budgets and payrolls for the 2024-2025 season. That of Boulazac Basket Dordogne amounts to 3.434 million euros (the average is 3.460). Pau leads the way with 5.501 million, ahead of Orléans (4.839) and Saint-Chamond (4.603). At the bottom of the scale, Évreux makes do with 1.989 million.
“The teams that come from Betclic Élite arrive with big resources [NDLR : 4,045 millions pour Blois, 4,331 pour Roanne]Saint-Chamond reorganized its structure. There is a sort of excitement this year,” notes Laurent Serres, president of the BBD. And again, the Périgord club increased its own by around sixty thousand euros (3.380 million in 2023-2024). Mainly thanks to the partnership.
The club boss notes “a disparity in the drop in public aid, particularly from the Department”. The BBD should lose “25%” of its subsidy, or “around 45,000 euros”. “Without this drop and the two relegations, we would be in the top 8.” Thus, 13 clubs saw their budget increase, only Châlons/Reims and Fos decreased (by 7 and 3%).
“Real know-how”
Gone are the days when the BBD dominated this ranking. “We no longer have the budget to be favorite in the division but we can be happy with the results we can achieve. We must realize that nothing is taken for granted. Sporting efficiency comes from real know-how. »
The BBD no longer overpays as was the case. He knows how to recruit smartly. Its payroll is almost unchanged, going from 972,000 to 958,000 euros in one year, or 28% of the budget, which is average and at the same level as last season. The largest payroll is for the Choir (1.374 million) and it is AS Alsace which devotes the largest part of its budget to it (39%).
The fact that the LNB validated the BBD forecasts “without reservation” is a “mark of confidence”.
