First success for Courrendlin in the LNB badminton championship

First success for Courrendlin in the LNB badminton championship

The BCC took advantage of the first double round of the exercise to achieve its first victory of the season on Sunday. This is the first success for the Jurassians since their return to the LNB.
Courrendlin was on deck all weekend. Saturday, for the first time this season, at home, the Vadais club faced Lausanne. While the BCC hoped to make its supporters smile by achieving at least a draw, a bad taste surprise was reserved for them by the club from the Olympic capital. The latter had made the trip with a major reinforcement in the person of the Irish Rachael Darragh, a regular LNA player, member of the world top 100 in singles and notably present in Paris this summer. Despite great combativeness and victories from Noé Varrin in men’s singles and doubles while he was accompanied by Loïc Berret, as well as a victory in the women’s doubles composed of Eugénie Chapuis and Marion Varrin, Courrendlin was defeated 5-3 .
The BCC players woke up on Sunday morning with a total of 2 points in 2 games. Or the same number of points as that of the Friborg club, Vadais’ opponent that day. This match was therefore of great importance at the start of the season against a direct opponent. To the delight of the BCC, the score was the same as the day before but this time in the opposite direction. Noé Varrin continued his good weekend by winning again in singles. He was imitated by his sister, Marion Varrin, in women’s singles. The latter also won in doubles, well accompanied by Eugénie Chapuis. Finally, the two men’s doubles were able to get the better of their counterparts to allow Courrendlin to raise his arms for the first time in this championship.
Thanks to this great victory bringing 3 points, the Jurassiens move up to 5th place in the ranking. They have two weeks to prepare for the next deadline and demonstrated this weekend that they will have to be counted on for this season in the national league.
