FC Barcelona is signing the next super talent for the long term!
The Catalans are extending the contract with midfielder Fermin Lopez until 2029. The La Liga club officially announced this on Thursday. His original working paper was only dated until 2027, but now it has been extended for another two years.
The mandatory exit clause in Spain is 500 million euros.
European champion and Olympic champion at the age of 21
Fermín moved from Betis Sevilla to the famous youth academy “La Masia” at the age of 13.
Since then, the midfielder has gone through all the youth team positions and even matured into a national player at Blaugrana. With Spain he won both the European Championships and Olympic gold in the summer.
Fermín has now made 48 competitive appearances in the Catalans’ jersey. The 21-year-old scored eleven goals and three assists. In the game against FC Bayern in the Champions League last week, the right-footer scored two impressive assists.
