The new Flamengo stadium is expected to be delivered in 2029
While the Flemish does not enter the field, the club’s behind-the-scenes are still busy. This Monday (14), during the event to launch Rodrigo Dunshee‘s candidacy, the name of the situation, Mais Querido released images of the new stadium and revealed that the capacity will be between 75 thousand and 79 thousand.
O Flemish announced that the future house, which will be built on the Gasometer site, in the port area of Rio de Janeiro, will have completion of the work scheduled for November 2029. At the beginning of this month, the Flemish received the key to the Gasometer land. The ceremony was attended by Rodolfo Landim, president of the red-black club; Eduardo Paes, mayor of Rio de Janeiro; Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, president of Brazil; and other members.
PRESSURE FOR THE STADIUM
This Monday (14), the ‘UniFla’ ticket was launched, which will have Rodrigo Dunshee as a competitor for the current administration in the elections for Flemish. Therefore, Rodolfo Landim, current president, highlighted that the future Mais Querido stadium will only come to fruition if the situation prevails.
— A lot of people worked against it all the time. They even went to the Deliberative Council meeting to vote against it. When they saw that they were going to lose badly, 90 people left. I have no doubt that, if we don’t elect Rodrigo Dunshee, this stadium won’t be created — said Landim, at an event held at the Jockey Club.
FLAMENGO SITUATION
While the future house is still being designed, the Flemish continues to play at Maracanã. Therefore, the red and black team has an important commitment this Thursday (17), when they face Fluminense, at 8 pm (Brasília time), in a clash valid for the Brazilian Championship.
