FOD distinguishes graduates participating in Paris 2024 – Hora Cero Web

Under the framework of the 32nd edition of its International Congress, the UANL Faculty of Sports Organization yesterday honored 16 graduates of their careers who played various roles in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

​Among the professionals recognized by the Faculty, which in September celebrated 50 years of service, athletes, coaches, officials, managers, physiotherapists and journalists stood out.

​The event, held in the “Gumersindo Cantú” Auditorium of the FACPYA, was attended by, among other honorees, the rower Kenia Lechuga, who reached her third Olympic Games in Paris.

​The same goes for para-athlete Mario Santana Ramos, club thrower, who also participated in his third Olympic Games, and kayaker Karina Alanís, who achieved her first Olympic participation.

​The double Olympic walking medalist, Raúl González, was another of the distinguished graduates; González attended his thirteenth Olympic Games, in which he has been an athlete, manager, commentator and coach, as in this last edition.

Journalist Juan Ramón Piña, sent to Paris 2024 by Hora Cero Deportes and Núcleo Radio Monterrey, also received recognition, for what represented his fifth Olympic coverage.

​The event was chaired by Gerardo Enrique Muñoz Maldonado, Director of the UANL Postgraduate Studies System, representing the Rector Santos Guzmán López; Rubén Ramírez Nava, Director of the FOD, and José Alberto Pérez García, Director of Sports of the UANL.

​Melody Falcó Díaz, Director of the INDE Nuevo León, and Mónica Amaya Alemán, Director of Physical Education of the State Secretariat of Education, were also present.
