The main round of the 2024/2025 Europa League started on September 25. Olympics gives the schedule of all matches of the third round of the general stage of the Europa League on October 23-24 and tells where to watch the broadcast of the matches.
Starting this season, the Europa League is taking place in a new format.
36 teams take part in the tournament. In the general stage (formerly the group stage), each team plays eight matches against eight different teams – four at home and four away. Those. teams play 8 rounds.
Based on the results of all matches, the overall Europa League standings are compiled. A team receives 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.
The top eight teams from the general stage advance directly to the 1/8 finals. Those who take places from 9th to 24th will advance to the playoffs and in a two-game confrontation will determine 8 more participants in the 1/8 finals.
The matches of the 1/8 finals, 1/4 finals and 1/2 finals will be held as before – the teams will play each other twice.
The winners of the semi-finals will meet in the final on May 21, 2025.
