Football in the NFL: St. Brown and the Lions inflict Vikings’ first loss

Amon-Ra St. Brown and the Detroit Lions caused the Minnesota Vikings’ first defeat of the season in the NFL.

Thanks to a field goal from kicker Jake Bates shortly before the end, the Super Bowl contender won the team from Minneapolis 31:29 and secured their fifth win of the season in the sixth game.

The German-American St. Brown scored his fourth touchdown of the season for quarterback Jared Goff’s team in a furious second quarter for the Lions. The Vikings led 10-0 after the first quarter.

Then the Lions really got going. Jahmyr Gibbs, St. Brown and Gibbs again scored touchdowns to make it 21:10 at the break. After the hosts from Minneapolis got within 17:21, Kalif Raymond made it a reassuring 28:17.

Green Bay Packers successful

With two field goals and a touchdown after a Lions mistake on offense, the Vikings turned the game around again and led 29:28 with just under five minutes to go. In the end, kicker Bates ensured the Lions’ success. The 24-year-old St. Brown caught eight passes for a total of 112 yards.

In the second top game, the Green Bay Packers also won against the Houston Texans 24:22 thanks to a field goal shortly before the end and inflicted their second defeat of the season on quarterback CJ Stroud’s team. The Packers also now have a 5-2 win record.

Jacksonville wins the London game

In the London game at Wembley Stadium, the Jacksonville Jaguars confidently defeated the New England Patriots 32:16 in front of 86,651 spectators. Superstar Tom Brady’s former team only has one win after seven games. Jacksonville secured its second success.
